Emily Irene VanCamp is a Canadian actor who is known for her leading roles on a number of TV shows, and for her enthralling acting in films. She is popular on both Canadian and American TV. Emily first became interested when she watched her sister Katie doing a movie. She began taking classes in acting, and then auditioning when she realized that she had a passion for acting. The first commercials she auditioned for were and was soon selected as a child actress on the Canadian television horror show Are You Scared of Darkness? The only scene that she was in was one that was silent. Her first major break at the age of fifteen when she was spotted as a regular in The WB series Glory Days. Emily's acting was noticed by Greg Berlanti even though the show ended after just nine episodes. Greg Berlanti cast Emily as a regular character on Everwood. Emily was also a dancer as well as a photographer. Teen once named her as one of the top actors who were under twenty. Maxim ranked her 51st on their Hot 100 of 2014.
